NCC-1701, the designation number for the original star trek's spaceship, captained by William Shatner as the infamous Captain James T. Kirk --- U.S.S. Enterprise

Saw the trailer in Cloverfield's trailer treat. Though Cloverfield was not of my liking, but this new star trek trailer was enough to keep me through the movie. (Trailer is below)

Taking the time capsule back to 1995-1997, those were the years that i totally fell in love with the then Star Trek: The Next Generation, NCC-1701-D, it was actually NCC-1701-D that really got me into the Star Trek craze.

Oh, just you wonder, the primary influencing factor that i studied engineering was because of NCC-1701-D, the 5th ship that bears the name USS Enterprise, carrying the designation of NCC-1701.

Yeah, i know, stupidity at it max !!! Cost me literally both arms and both legs to graduate from the course... dammit !!!

The engineering perspectives of NCC-1701-D is enough to make me drool like mad, the 2 naucelles, the deflector dish, the dilithium crystal (Yes, i still remembered, i had the Star Trek Encyclopedia!!!), and yeah, i also have the blue print spec of NCC-1701-D as well.

Man, this really brings back memories....

Now, she is coming back again, i'm waiting anxiously & eagerly for her to spread her warp drives on the big screen again...

All new Proton Saga Replacement

Expect to see this Proton's latest model on official launch in January 2008 for this Proton Saga Replacement, dubbed Proton BLM presently, but spyshots of the Proton BLM started circulating on the net.

The rear lights designed looks like previous generation Mercedes C-class.

To be very frank, i am very impressed. It's been like million of years since i got impressed by any Proton made car, but this one really caught my attention.

Rumour to be a sub Rm40k car, ranging from RM25k to Rm35k, slot between Proton Savvy and
Proton Persona. Comments from various sources indicate it to be a practical car, with value for money, with initial impressions seems to conclude at it being a good overall package Saga-replacement that is long long long overdue!!!

I really can't wait to see the full specs and the pricing structure when it is officially becomes available to the general public.

Interesting time ahead for Proton, really hope Proton is up for it, and really start making cars that people wants . . .

Though I really like it, but i still have to see it personally after it is launch, before i made further judgment; But really, the initial impression is really GOOD !!!

City2Surf 2007

Totally forgotten about this annual event, City2surf. It is an annual running event, a total of 14km run from Sydney's Hyde Park to Bondi Beach. It was estimated that there were 60,000 people participated in this event.

The photo above shown the mass people at the start of the run.

There was a live band playing on top of the roof ... the atmosphere was awesome, with people cheering everyone on ....

I am nearing the finishing line ... though this is my first time joining this event, i managed to complete the course :)

I finished at 46,715th with a time of 184.08 minutes . . . so roughly ahead of 13,000 people !!! :P

However, of late, there are people starting to make a living out of scamming people via craiglist system.

Watch Out for Craigslist Scams!

Consider this post a public service. Two people who I know well were getting close to caught up in a real estate scam on Craigslist, and in the extended entries I'm including the correspondence. Coincidentally, both people who were targeted knew each other and shared the emails with each other and noticed that some of the same wording was in each one, even though they were supposedly sent by different people.

Here's how the scam works:

* Someone posts a classified ad for a housing rental on Craigslist (the poster is the honest one here, the patsy). Both people I know who got sucked up posted in New York. It's safe to say this can happen to someone posting in any city, on or off Craigslist, but based on the volume of posts, ease of posting, and diversity of people posting (from those who are struggling financially to the well-heeled who are using all channels available), it's possible Craigslist is the target for the scam.

* The scam artist responds in poor English, reminiscent of the Nigerian 419 scams. He claims to be a doctor from the UK - Dennis Johnson and Sanjay Gupta were used in these cases, and if you Google the names, you'll find that these are actual names of the UK doctors, so depending on your legal definition, it's likely the scammers are taking part in some form of identity theft. Note the irony that a UK-based doctor who will be working in the US for awhile writes such horrific English. Dr. Johnson couldn't even spell his own first name consistently, and he seems unsure whether he's a doctor or a lawyer. (An aside: Johnson's wife, Loveth Johnson, comes up in a Google search for Nigerian scams.)

* A bit of back and forth ensues where the scammer asks for details about the apartment and shares more about their plans overseas. Dr. J even mentions Merck CEO Raymond V.Gilmartin will arrange things on his behalf; now that's one connected renter right there (forget that Gilmartin is actually the former CEO, one who ironically resigned when Congress started investigating the safety issues with Vioxx). While the Gilmartin mention only appeared in one letter of the two scams sent my way, consider the following excerpts from both of the solicitations:

* Dr. Dennis Johnson: "Due to the limited time that we have before our arrival,we are making arrangements with a furniture company to supply the home with furniture,so we will need you to provide us with the measurements of the living room and bedroom so that we can send it to the furniture company so that they can supply the unit with furniture that will fit in well."

* Dr. Arun Gupta, PhD: "Due to the limited time that I have before my arrival, I'm making arrangements with a furniture company to supply the home with furniture, so I will need you to provide me with the measurements of the living room and bedroom so that I can send it to the furniture company so that they can supply the unit with furniture that will fit in well."

* The scammer says he sent a check for a certain amount to cover the security deposit and a couple months rent, but he used the same check to pay the furniture company too. Yet, surprise, his contact there is going on vacation and needs your help, so you can just refund the difference from the check they're sending you (don't try too hard to do the math here). Also, don't bother Googling company "Debbie Furnitures," as that doesn't exist. He makes it sound so urgent that someone who totally falls for all of this might just send the check before getting the other. It's possible he'll send a check as well, and the recipient will send the refund back before the scammer's check bounces.

That's the gist.

The main goal for me here is that these letters are included in search engines' records so that when someone searches for anything remotely connected to these scams, the text will appear (if you'd care to reprint any of this or just link back here, feel free).

Please do let me know if you have heard from Mrs.Debbie T the sales manager of the furniture company and do let us know the position of things with you as we are in the process of booking our seats on a flight to the states.

Once again,we apologise for any stress this issue may cause you,we are looking up to you to help us out.I will appreciate a response from you on receipt of this email.

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

MORAL Of the Story is :
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Fortunately, the second thought made me hesitate about getting down and in fact, even when they (two Indians on a motorbike) drew alongside me in the jam along Jalan Syed Putra, Kuala Lumpur, I only wound down the window a bit to ask them what they were saying. As I stopped the car, I was still thinking about the absence of a warning light which would normally come on because a leak will drop the brake fluid level and the sensor (which most cars have) will pick it up.

As I pulled over, the two guys stopped their motorcycle in front of me and the tall pillion rider got down (which also struck me as suspicious because most people usually shout a warning and then go off). It could be that because they were both wearing dark blue shirts with a Shell logo, they expected that unsuspecting motorists would let their guard down thinking they were mechanics. Anyway as the tall guy was getting down, I noticed that in his hand was a small container (like an Eye-mo bottle) and that immediately stopped me from getting out. I immediately drove off and kept an eye in the mirror but didn’t see them following me.

Back in around 2003-2005, Honda came out with a pretty luxury looking Honda Accord. The styling back then was probably too good that eventually, Hyundai, the world #6 car manufacturer decided to copy Honda's design cue for its next generation large car sedan, Hyundai Sonata, which was launched in 2005....

and now, in the year 2008, Honda decided to take the game back to Hyundai with its 2008 Honda Accord. See how similar the front looks.... hehe !!! (Payback maybe!!!)

Ok lar ... probably the design coincidence was due to safety regulations adherence to be able to sell in the EU and US regions, yet still maintain the current design cue for the wider market acceptance.

But really lor !!! they look super alike leh ... no matter what u said :P

Then again hor, the rear design of Honda Accord 2008 looks quite similar to current generation S- Class S550 ... copy or not, U make the judgment... I reserved mine :)

Jack wakes up with a huge hangover after attending his company's Christmas Party.

Jack is not normally a drinker, but the drinks didn't taste like alcohol at all. He didn't even remember how he got homefrom the party. As bad as he was feeling, he wondered if he did something wrong.

Jack had to force himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins next to a glass of water on the side table. And, next to them, a single red rose! ! Jack sits up and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pre ssed. He looks around the room and sees that it is in perfect order, spotlessly clean. So is the rest ofthe house.

He takes the aspirins, cringes when he sees a huge black eye staring back at him in the bathroom mirror. Then he notices a note hanging on the corner of the mirror written in red with little hearts on it and a kiss mark from his wife in lipstick:

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c".
Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy.

The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k".
This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

If you live on Earth, you would have seen this emblem at least once in your life.

There's been indication that Toyota will overtake General Motors #1 position as Global Automakers since 2006, and for the first quarter of 2007, it is no longer speculation, it is now an official report.

Though it has yet to reach #1 in global sales this year, but between January-March 2007, General Motors (GM) has sold 2.26 million vehicles worldwide, while Toyota sold 2.35 million units in the same period.

Toyota totally ended GM 75 years of #1 domination !!! I am sure GM share values will drop a couple notch when the result was released.

Analysts are optimistic that Toyota will keep its position through out the year, and achieved global #1 automaker by year end.

On top of that, GM has been losing billions in its business as opposed to Toyota which generate billions of profits instead. What a double whammy for GM !!!

WHY Toyota been doing so well ? Simple. It presses all the right buttons at the right time with the right price.

However, that being said .... i am pretty confident that i still won't be able to afford one Toyota for a pretty long while ... knn de !!!

On April 23, 2007, i saw this news on Chinapress website, where the Minister Of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz has "accidentally" become a MALE for at least a week while she was away on work trip in South America.

She spoke of this while she was giving a speech in KL, and these are the response of others ministers and officers on site.

The issue regarding the agencies officers that messed up our official document details has now gone from bad to worst or probably even worst (i am just speculating, but i am pretty sure it still stands at bad at minimum), going as far as to affecting the ministers now !!!

Come on Datuk, this issue has been on the paper all the time, no one could be bothered to FIX IT sooner only !!!

Hopefully after this little "exciting" incident, someone high up will put pressure to fix all these stupid annoyance !!!

How to get from New York City to Paris?

Google Maps service provides directions to get from one place to another, and a quick search using it for NY City to Paris revealed something very interesting.

Step 1: Goto Google Maps Service @ http://maps.google.com

Step 2: In the "Get Direction" tab, type "New York, New York" in Start Box, and then type "Paris, France" in End Box, and click "Get Directions" (see below diagram)

And it will revealed the map as follow:

Google recently made another cash acquistion on a 3rd-party advertising, DoubleClick, paying US$3.1 billion, doubling what Google paid for YouTube, US$1.69 billion.

Recent acquisition by Google has made itself possible to be an One-stop advertising company, covering web & non-web based platform. Non-web based advertising platform extends into radio and cable, which Google is trialing of late. Google dominance not just on the web, but also start extending its arm into the non-web based platform.

What'll become of the future, Google a.k.a. Web 3.0, interesting !!!

By the way, Google is building a super-computer at this present moment to process all these massive data around the whole world.

Subaru entered into compact 4WD segment roughly about 2 years ago.

When it was launched, this SUV really turned heads ... not for the usual reasons, but for reason the relates to the design 'superiority' , see above and you probably agree with me.

REALLY. Did the design studio people go for a holiday or something??? SERIOUSLY !!!

At New York Motor Show 2007, a facelift Tribeca was introduced.

Nothing to celebrate about, conservative design. Nor is its bigger engine replacement, under the hood, a new 3.6 litre flat six-cylinder engine is introduced, with power improved by 4 percent, and torque by 13 percent to 335Nm.

2007 Highlight: DRM-free

I consider the next thing i am going to write here is going to be one of the highlight of 2007.

DRM is on its way out, and one of the largest lable company in the world is supporting it, working with Apple and other various online music distributors, selling music DRM-free !!!

To refresh your memory, DRM is known as Digital Rights Management to many, but strictly speaking should be Digital Restrictions Management.

To serve as a reminder of why it is such a 'killer', DRM is the culprit that causes movies downloaded from Telstra to self-destruct after 24 hours or songs bought on Apple's iTunes not to play on other company's music players or your inability to play a DVD you legally bought in New York on a DVD player you legally bought here in Australia.

Yup, those are the reasons why you should hate DRM ... it is just an annoyance than actually stopping piracy.

Microsoft's DRM system is called PlaysForSure (no, it really doesn't !!!) and Apple's is called FairPlay (no, it isn't at all). Microsoft even claimed DRM is a "proven platform to protect and securely deliver content". I think that claim has just been flushed down the drain the day when EMI and Apple made the announcement that EMI is releasing all its digital catalogue from DRM locked down, and Apple's iTunes will start stocking DRM-free EMI's songs. Though at present, this good news only involved EMI as the single label company that is releasing its songs from DRM, but will foresee future label companies soon follow.

Of course, DRM-free songs will come at a price higher than songs with DRM, but Apple is claiming that the DRM-free songs though come slightly more expensive, but shall be encoded in 256kpbs rate, which gives a better output quality. This of course only applies to audiophiles or if you owned expensive speakers to complement it, else you probably won't notice the difference anyway ...

Oh yeah, one last bomb to drop on you before you go rushing into iTunes and start whooping up all the DRM-free songs.

DRM-free songs will only be encoded in AAC format, though Apple, Microsoft, Nokia, Sandisk (e200 line), and Sony will support this format, most players out there don't. Yup, i'm sure you'll be cursing like mad as you read on. But don't despair, firmware updates will come.

Mean time, appreciate the fact that music industry players finally accepted the fact that putting DRM will never work to curb piracy... X-fingers !!!

Looks like it got a bit of Aston Martin Vanquish design's DNA on it huh? Well, that's because Ford used to owned Aston. So ... aha !!! Yup, that's it.

Recent news indicated that Aston now is no longer part of Ford's portfolio, rather Aston is now owned by Prodrive, a British automotive company that tunes cars and manages Aston Martin’s racing team. In another words, Aston is back in the hand of British.

A bit on the hardware, standard equipment for the new 2007 Ford Mondeo include ESP stability control, a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm system, follow-me-home lights, a trip computer and auxillary socket for connecting MP3 players. It will also feature Ford’s new EasyFuel capless fuel filler with fuel inhibitor to prevent the car from being refueled with the wrong fuel.

This is potentially Ford's Fiesta replacement. It looks a little too big for a small car compare to current model Fiesta as below.

Reason being the potential replacement Fiesta shall be a soft-roader similar to the Suzuki SX4 which is gaining popularity since its launch. Perhaps, Ford is trying to gain a piece of the pie on the same construct.

Personally, i feel this fiesta soft-roader is like a buggy on steroids ... i rest my case here !!!

2cents Thought: - Mobile Browser + Download Charges

Nokia and Google's patent application for visual search product has prompted analysts speculating strong focused onto mobile platform in future tech wars between rivals.

Delivering search/email reader applications onto mobile phones is nothing of huge leap or surprises in these areas, as these applications were already in the market for quite some time. Fore-runners tech companies like Google, Opera, Nokia are gearing up their product development plans towards mobile platform, showing strong growth momentum that these applications shall be embedded as default apps for future coming mobile phones.

Further more, recent released of Microsoft Live Lab developed beta Deepfish, a true web browser application for smart phones reinforced the future direction of what these tech companies heading towards.

Description of photo: See the web browser on the phone, the whole page is loaded onto the mobile browser as opposed to other mobile browsers, where you have to scroll down in column forms, and the pictures just don't get resize to fit onto the mobile screensize and etc. This Deepfish is probably the evolution of mobile browser people are looking for, because the whole page is loaded onto the screen as if you are working on your desktop/laptop. Full details, you just have to go read about it at their site. (Note: I do not endorse the use of this application, what i am saying is that Deepfish is definitely one mobile app i be looking into!!!)

However, one of the biggest problem that i still see that have yet been solved. These techs companies have the technologies, the telcos have the infrastructure to support the utilisation of these applications, BUT, will the uptake by the consumers will be as enthusiatic about as the providers?

The main problem is obvious, DATA CHARGES charged by the telcos are still bloody EXPENSIVE....a mere 3MB downloads requires $8 per month via a 3.5G infrastructure. I was initially super enthu about the availability of these applications onto mobile phones, which will give me option getting connected while being mobile, and not be confined to sitting in front of a PC.

That changes the moment i realised how expensive the telcos are charging !!!

So, my thought is, will there be any sane person will want to use any of the mobile applications if the utilisation of these apps will run their mobile bills high up in the sky. It just makes me boil every time thinking about how these infrastructure providers derived their pricing structure !!!

It is obvious these pricing are PLAIN STUPIDITY at its best !!! Then again, i don't own any of them, i don't really have a say, isn't it !!!

2cents Thought - Mobile Operators' NOW and FUTURE

Latest mobile phones are now wi-fi enabled, couple with the latest WiMax offering in developed and developing countries, users can get connected to the web without going through the telco operators, but directly to Wireless ISPs.

Would we see the end of telco in the decade to come?

Using VoIP services like Skype, and the still 'free' Internet would enable people to connect directly without the mobile operators network infrastructure. Wouldn't that be threatening to telco operators? What are their long term sustainability plans?

Of course, major telcos will influence the government to amend legistrations to favour their sustainability. But to how long?

Eventually, hopefully within my life time, every major communicative medium will converge to INTERNET. That'll be a very interesting times for sure. On that note, INTERNET is like the black-hole of communications and technologies, it just sucked everything into it huh !!!

Just realized that !!!

However, on the lighter side, present mobile operators are not even at their peak, there are much much more applications with mobile at present. Mobile applications such as LocationFinder using GPS, People Location using mobile, Mobile Phone as Credit Card, Mobile Search like Yahoo! Go, Google's Map Services, that are already rollout in several countries throughout the world, but some are still at its infancy.

Then, there is this mobile TV application, country like Vietnam is one of the few who has the luxury to implement and use them; not like Australia, which that application will only become viable until at least 2010, for reason being existing analogue and digital television services operate in channels adjacent to the proposed mobileTV, which causes significant technical limitations towards mobile TV applications.

While in Malaysia, Ericsson Malaysia hopes to provide a software upgrade, Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (MBMS) towards HSDPA (aka 3.5G) infrastructure owned telco, moving these telcos into Ready mode for mobileTV rollout in Malaysia. Of course, this means another form of revenues for the telco operators.

Exciting times ahead for telecommunications industry. No wonder analysts recommend 'buy' for most telco's shares.

Contradicting thoughts are just my forte aye !!! Darn it ...

2cents Thought - How Connected are We?

Internet is continuing its revolution on how we live our lifes, and in fact, people are so connected that, like myself, if i am not on the web, i will feel i am out of touched with reality. I would not know what is going on within my community, and also the community that reach far back to my home country.

However, no matter how internet revolution is charging ahead, the issue here is we really even more connected than before or less connected?

Think about it. We been charging with the internet revolution, with technologies being the catalysts that pushed the ever revolving internet to evolve at rates almost at logarithmically manner.

With these technologies, we are able to keep in touch, but that is in essence only comprises of voice and images? What about the real physical companionship, the physical touch, the physical connectedness? It could be argued that we are doing it via webcam, or are we? REALLY??

The end thought still, are we moving forward on having the capacity to stay more connected, or are we moving backwards in terms connectedness? Or these technologies just supposedly help us to be more adrift .... that'll work too ... i guess !!!

This one about Online Television and its best friend, Targeted Advertisements (Advertisers).

The future of IP-based television is coming, of course, many of the Y-Generation would probably be doing that already, the X-gen would probably still catching up, then again, i may be stereotyping, the X-gen probably more adaptive than i thought they were !!!

Anyway, pioneer of Online TV, Joost, brought to you by file-sharing service, KaZaa and VoIP phone service, Skype shall be providing IP-based Television. This piece is not about the future launch of Joost, rather its inherent application of providing IP-based tv services to the general public, super efficient Profiled Advertisements.

The potential of IP-based tv lies on the foundation that it has the capability to profile viewers according to their interests, careers and etc etc, and streaming selective & profiled adverts to them directly, and nothing else.

Though this surely gonna make many advertisers VERY VERY happy, having an advertising platform that provides spot on results. However, the downsides i see, are that people will lose the opportunity to be educated on other products that may be appreciable if they known about it. Wouldn't this writes off the minority potential customers when targeted advertisements are so effective and targeted??

What about the joy of viewing creative workings of advertisements that has been part of our life for as long as advertisement was invented?

Of course the details of how the profiling would work is another matter at hands for the providers. It has always been known that people could lied about what they interested, what they may want and stuffs, etc etc etc.

Oh yeah, btw, until today, i still think adverts still piss me off, and IP-based tv would probably be pissing me off even further huh !!! Darn it ....

Yup, that's right, they are practically identical, because like Mini and Beetle, Fiat is keeping its retro styling to its original, and that's the only thing that is kept from the old Fiat 500.

This new Fiat 500 is 355cm long, 165 cm wide, 149 cm tall and has a wheelbase of 230 cm. It will be powered by Fiat’s 69hp 1.2 liter 8 valve & 100hp 1.4 liter 16 valve petrol engines, with a 75hp 1.3 liter 16 valve MultiJet turbodiesel engine follow up.

Above is the RMS Queen Mary 2 which arrived in Sydney Harbour on 20.Feb.2007.

Look at the size of it in comparison to those little boats docking in her surrounding. She is massive.

She claims to be the worlds largest, longest, tallest, widest and grandest ocean Linear.

I wonder will i ever be able to get on board on one of these grand ocean linear :(

1st time, i was able to stand in the middle of George Street, and not worried about being run down by cars ... How cool is that :P

If you look closely, you see there are many dots of blue lights on the background of the picture, those are actually people walking around wearing cap that embeds LED light in it.

A bit creepy hor, looks like bugs coming of the dark .... hehehe !!!

This 18.March.2007 marks the 75th Anniversary of the Coat Hanger, and Sydney's Circular Quay was filled with crowds.

These shots were taken with a friend new Canon IXUS 850 IS, with Aquarium mode selected, can U believe that? She claimed that aquarium mode helps take better night shots !!!

What the hell, i no professional camera guy anyway, main objective is to take the pictures only mar :P

Guess, those hardcore photographers will probably "kill" me for saying that huh !!!

Just before i was about to bomb him back, i read the article that revealed the ranking, and i was gloating like mad.... haha...

Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur Internation Airport (KLIA) comes 3rd, which is one spot better than Singapore own's Changi Airport !!!

After 20+ odds years, this breed of trees still survive in Taiping, though i am not sure if it is a special breed or something !!!

One thing for sure, it brings back memories when i saw it.

I think i was in a picture with my mom with these trees in the background in the late 80s !!!

+ my parents told me that Taiping's local would bet on whether it is going to rain on that day or not !!!

Balik Pulau's Waterfall

Haven't been to a waterfall area for ages, and i got reacquainted with waterfall while i was in Penang for holidays.

The water was super COLD, but the feeling was nice, a bit of nature here and there. Funny thing was, i was not bitten by any mossie at all, in fact, there weren't any mossie around !!!

Or maybe my blood is not worth it ... darn it !!!

This is the main road outside of the waterfall area, & i was really surprise there actually got stores setup to sell stuffs ... in the middle of NOWHERE !!!

Frankly, I was really wondering how the hell those businesses survive though !!!

Motorway Entrance location !!!

That's the entrance to Sydney's Cross City Tunnel motorway, a small little entrance !!!

The traffic from both end, as you can see the cars are entering into, are totally totally crawling, and that is only about 2:40+ pm.

I am not going to even try to imagine what will happen, when comes rush hour !!!

That is probably the oddest location an entrance was designed into a motorway i had ever seen in my life !!!

I thought "smart" design like this could happened back in my home country, and we, could lived with it, since we so used to this kind of ultimate "smartiness", but over here TOO ....

hahaha....

Guess, this is the reality of life, regardless where you are, "smart" work of art do exist, no matter where you are !!! :P

Then again, this is purely my 2 cents opinion !!!

This is the Eye on Malaysia, set up in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa, in conjuction with Visit Malaysia 2007.

I was trying to get onboard prior the day before returning back to Sydney . . . too bad the ticket counters closed when i arrived, though the rides were still going then!!!

I was told later by a friend that apprarently the queue for the 'Eye' is super duper long, during the CNY week, no matter what time it was, the queue just kept growing....

Watlao !!! Never thought it is going to be such a big hit in KL...

No wonder the ride was still going even after the ticket counters were closed that night when i was there !!!

If memories served me right, this 'Eye' is on loan from someone, and it will be gone by 31.December.2007, so, anyone heading to Malaysia, give it a go, and if possible, send me the pics if you happen to have the chance to ride in one !!!

There are only 3 units of 'Eye' in the world, according to another blogger, Paul Ooi, the other 2 are at London, Britain and Fukuoka, Japan.

Though it is only 60 meters high, to me it was pretty huge when i was standing below it !!! Of course, i didn't have the luxury to experience the other 2 which are equally 135 meters up ...

"shua ku" right .... damn !!! Must earn $$ to travel there ...darn it !!!

I feel super "lao kui" don't know leh... then again, am not pure Penang Kia, though was borned there :P

Oh yeah, the Kek Lok Si temple is so business oriented, you pay RM1 for this, RM2 for that in the name of donation, you deng (oil light .. only hokkien ppl will know!!! ... too lazy to explain, someone help out on the comment section, super kam siah!!!), donate RM1 for this, RM2 for that, and a couple of hours there after, you will find yourself lose about RM10 per person there !!!

Penang's Ice Milk aka "Gu Leng Bing"

For those who went to Penang, & had not tried something call "Gu Leng Bing" (Hokkien for "Ice Milk"), then hahaha ... sorry... you probably missed out one of the most delicious drink that ever existed in the face of the planet :P

Oh yeah, while i was there, i was corrected by the local ah Nneh on how to pronounce "Gu Leng Bing" in Hokkien... fucking hell !!!

Did i lose my ability to speak Penang Hokkien so fast ???

So i start checking out all the traffic cams in the city of Kuala Lumpur, and what i saw totally shocked me .... there are heaps of people on the street near Jalan Raja Laut / Sultan Ismail !!!

WHY leh ?? It is in the whee early in the morning, and there are thousands of people on the street, and from the pictures, the ladies look like Indian.

Is it Thaipusam already? ....

A checked on the net confirmed that.

Probably check out Batu Caves these few days, hopefully i could con a friend to drive me there :P

It's about single motherhood, the hopes single mother had for their babies, and the perspectives and experiences coming from the families of those babies.

It is featured with lyrics of mix Malay and Mandarin.

The song is about the reality of increased single mothers in Malaysia, and the daily emotional/uncertainty struggles these moms had to go through with their babies, hoping for the best !!!
